Sylvie Elliott

Sylvie has been practicing different types of meditation for over 30 years and in 1983 decides to follow her dream of doing martial arts.  She practices this sport several hours every week for a few years all the while continuing her career as a secretary.  She participates in several Tae Kwon Do competitions and in 1986 wins a bronze medal (as blue belt) at the Eastern Canadian Tae Kwon Do Championships in Ottawa.

In 1989, Ms Elliott studies to become a massage therapist. She receives her diploma in Sweedish Massage from the Pierre-Dupuis School in Montreal and becomes a member of the Fédération des Masseurs et Massothérapeutes.  After having worked in the massagetherapy field and owning her own business for a few years, she decides to return to work as a full-time secretary.

In the Summer of 2012, Sylvie has to take a few months off work due to extreme fatigue. That is when she decides to take her health into her own hands and turn to her mentor Fabrice Piché, a Taiji Qigong Shibashi instructor and Director of the National Institute of Chinese Medicine (Canada) Inc.  After taking a few private lessons with Fabrice, she is already feeling a lot better and, as the days go by, realizes the tremendous and positive impact practicing Qigong Shibashi is having on her overall health and well-being. Having developped a great passion for this beautiful Chinese art form, she decides to study it at the NICM and receives her Taiji Qigong Shibashi teaching certificat for sets 1, 2 and Elite.
